A little more about my approach

Weddings aren’t about perfect poses or staged moments. They’re about people, energy, and everything that happens in between. The way it felt to be there.

I photograph weddings with a documentary approach - calm, unassuming, and unobtrusive. No awkward posing. No forced moments. Just honestly capturing moments as they unfold, without interruption or performance. The laughter, the nerves, the chaos, the in-between moments you didn’t even realise were happening at the time.

On occasion, when the light or setting offers something special, I may make gentle suggestions or offer subtle guidance — but these moments are the exception, never the rule.

Weddings are rare events. Life is a winding path, and along it, there are often only a handful of moments when we bring together everyone who matters most to us to celebrate. To be invited into that space — to witness it and document it — is an honour and privilege I never take for granted.

That is the heart of why I photograph weddings. As a sensitive and observant soul, drawn to the quiet sparks of human connection and emotion, there is no more powerful expression of my work. I take on only a limited number of weddings each year alongside my commercial work, allowing me to stay creatively present and to give every story the time, care, and attention it deserves.

Pricing

Most of my couples budget around £2000 - £2500 for full-day wedding photography. Smaller weddings and flexible options are available.

What’s included:

  • Full coverage of your day, from as early as you need me (think sea swims with the groomsmen/ team breakfasts), through preparations, ceremony and wedding breakfast, right the way through the first dance and beyond. I won’t leave until I’m confident I’ve captured the essence of every part of the day. If the skies are clear, I’ll often stay into the night and capture the stars & moon of a wedding night too. This is about delivering a set of artistic images that, in decades to come, will allow you to relive every moment of your day.

  • A rapid preview - It’s important to have some special images in the days rather than weeks after your wedding day, to help you relive the joy while you honeymoon, or to share with dear people who couldn’t be there on the day. I’ll send you an initial set of images within a few days of your wedding, so you have something to cherish and share immediately.

  • A curated gallery of carefully and lovingly edited images, telling the story of your day, which you can share immediately and from which you and your loved ones can download directly.

  • A keepsake box with the same set of high-resolution images on a USB drive for safekeeping, along with 10 prints.

  • If you’ve chosen to have me shoot both analogue film and digital, then as well as high-resolution scans of the images, you’ll receive all the negatives from your photographs in archival sleeves.

If you want to discuss different levels of coverage or a bespoke package, please do get in touch

Additional Options

  • Analogue Photography - I adore shooting on film & always encourage couples to have me shoot a few rolls of 35mm on a wedding day. I predominantly shoot on Kodak Portra 400 colour film & Kodak Tri-X black & white. You can see examples of my analogue work here. The cameras I use most are a Contax T2, Canon EOS 10, Mamiya 6x5 & a Bronica 6x6. Costs vary depending on the film stocks used and the number of rolls.

  • Engagement Shoot

  • Second Shooter (extra coverage for larger weddings & more angles of those key moments)

  • Fine Art Albums - pricing dependent on size and material choices

A few things past couples have said…

  • “Ben took some extraordinary photographs during our wedding in Limoges. He captured all of the big moments perfectly and so many small details which would have been forgotten without his eye. He composes shots with texture, colour and light beautifully to capture the real essence of the day. Not only that, but he’s wonderful to have around!”

  • “Ben’s ability to capture the macro and the micro gave the resulting collection of images an epic scale as well as a tender intimacy, whether it was a panorama of the whole wedding site taken from a drone above or a close up of a ring being slipped on a finger, the background thrown into soft darkness.

He has a real gift for making people feel at ease and there was nothing contrived or set-up in any of the exquisitely composed images,  just a natural flow of energy and emotions frozen in time.

Ben also has an intuitive sense of the moment and how to frame and capture it. His ability to distil and capture  the happiness of the moment is truly miraculous.”

  • “Ben was the only photographer I wanted for our wedding. I didn’t even know if he did wedding photography, but I knew his work through mutual friends. His candid shots and eye for detail always struck me as so poetic, sensitive and light. Luckily for me he jumped at the chance. Even today, 2.5yrs later, we are still noticing more and more details in the scenes and snapshots he captured throughout the day. So much personality, vibrancy, joy and romance. We’ll truly treasure and relish these images forever. He is the best!”
